The entrance to the harbour at Greymouth is an interesting place, even on a quiet day. The road out to it provides views back to the harbour and town, especially early in the morning:

I watched a fishing trawler go out, under very pleasant conditions.
It’s not always like this. There’s a monument out there to the fisherman who have lost their lives trying to cross the Greymouth Bar. There are also some good videos on Youtube, including an excellent one here from the fishing industry.
